Lucy had zero friends on Facebook and I decided that she needed to meet more Doodles! I set up a page for her and started asking some Doodles to “friend” her. There is a whole sub-culture of Doodle lovers on Facebook, who knew? Frankly it’s more fun being Lucy on Facebook than it is me. Lucy doesn’t have to censor her thoughts or worry about what old friends might think. She’s a dog and the dogs on Facebook are really nice. She has friends in Australia, Poland, Russia, Japan, Chile – it’s amazing how many people love their dogs enough to put up a page for them.

We’ve all heard and seen terrible things about animal abuse, but this group of “dogs” are loved and pampered. It restores my faith in humankind. Doodle-RescueCollective is a non-profit run by Jacqueline Yorke. She finds “forever” homes for Doodles in need. Some dogs are dropped off at shelters and some are just dumped by the side of the road. Jacqueline and her volunteers foster the dogs until they’re ready to go to their new family. If you think you want to adopt one of these wonderful dogs, take a look at the dogs that are available and think about offering your home and your love to a Doodle in need.
